Buffalo Chicken Sliders
You’ll love the irresistible and saucy buffalo chicken sliders! With layers of sweet rolls, tender chicken, melty white American, and a ranch butter sauce they are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Perfect for busy weeknights, potlucks, or game-day spreads, they come together quickly with minimal prep and you can even make the chicken in the slow cooker!
I have a recipe for slow cooker buffalo chicken, but you can also use any cooked and shredded chicken or buy a rotisserie chicken and shred it yourself (and then try my rotisserie chicken salad, it’s the best!).
If you love buffalo recipes (we’re obsessed if you can’t tell), be sure to try my buffalo chicken flatbread, air fryer buffalo cauliflower bites, and crispy buffalo chicken salad next time.

Ingredients
- Hawaiian sweet rolls – The classic sweet and salty combo comes from the sweet rolls, don’t skip them!
- Butter – Use high-quality butter for the best flavor.
- Ranch seasoning – Use your favorite powdered ranch seasoning or make your own if you prefer.
- Shredded buffalo chicken – You can make this easily in the slow cooker or Instant Pot. You can also use any cooked chicken or rotisserie chicken and season yourself with buffalo sauce.
- White American cheese – I love the melty texture of white American cheese, but you could also use another cheese that melts well like mozzarella or Monterey jack would also work well.

Emily’s Tip for Feeding Kids
Whenever I serve sandwiches to my kids I leave them unassembled and let them make their own sandwich, or put together their own plate of the components. So for these sliders, you can assemble half or 3/4 and save some slider buns or simply serve the meal with a few other sides or items if they aren’t interested in the sliders.
How to Make Buffalo Chicken Sliders
This is an overview, the detailed instructions can be found below in the recipe card.
- Cook chicken. Make slow cooker pulled buffalo chicken ahead.
- Prep buns. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise, keeping them all intact in two sheets.

- Mix ranch butter. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and ranch powder.
- Assemble sliders. Place the bottom set of buns onto an aluminum foil-lined pan. Top with buffalo chicken mixture (scoop with a slotted spoon so any excess liquid can drain), cheese, and the top layer of buns.

- Bake sliders. Brush the tops of the rolls with butter ranch mixture. Bake sliders until golden brown. Serve with ranch dressing and an extra drizzle of buffalo sauce if desired.
Storage
Store leftover buffalo chicken sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
How to reheat
Reheat sliders in a 350 degree F oven until heated through.

What to Serve with Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
Depending on how you’re serving up these sandwiches,
- Raw veggies and Dill Veggie Dip
- Napa Cabbage Coleslaw
- Air Fryer Broccoli
- Potato chips
- Fresh fruit
