Emily Dingmann is the founder of My Everyday Table and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor with a B.S. in Nutrition from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. She has been developing weeknight recipes for busy families since 2009, with features in Today, SELF, Real Simple, Buzzfeed, and Fitness Magazine.

Hi, I’m Emily!
I am the writer, recipe developer, and content creator for myeverydaytable.com, where I help busy families take the stress out of weeknight dinners. I’m known for simple, nourishing recipes, realistic nutrition advice, and helping parents and children have a healthy relationship with food.
My goal: Help busy families simplify weeknight dinners with easy, delicious recipes and weekly meal plans that work for everyday life.
I would consider my recipes nutrition-forward, but my approach to nutrition is always through delicious food. It’s my opinion that if food doesn’t taste good, it’s not sustainable (or enjoyable!) for the long-term, and I’m interested in long-term healthy habits, not fads that will come and go with the news cycles and social media.
When it comes to dinner, I focus on recipes that are quick, nourishing, and family-friendly – because getting dinner on the table shouldn’t be overly complicated. My recipes balance nutrition with flavor and real-life, which is why you’ll find everything from 15 minute meals to hands-off slow cooker dinners!
I have a degree in Nutrition and am also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and I use both of those backgrounds in my recipes, writing, and nutrition advice. I have been writing and developing recipes since 2009 and my work has been featured in various print, online, and TV publications.

History
I’ve been here a while! I started this website (originally called A Nutritionist Eats) in 2009 to share new foods I was finding and recipes I was cooking. After finishing my Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, I worked in marketing for an organic bakery and spent lots of time at natural food shows and in the co-ops around the Twin Cities (mostly the Wedge!), and started getting more interested in cooking.
The blog continued as a hobby for many, many years – through moves across the country (and back!), and through having two baby girls, and an eventual name change to My Everyday Table. I wanted this name and brand shift to signify that my recipes are for every day. They are simple, straightforward, and approachable for the everyday table. Mine and yours!

Shift to Intuitive Eating
As I grew more and more tired of dieting, I grew more and more interested in Intuitive Eating. And after having two daughters, my desire to really strengthen my relationship with food and my body grew. I had silently struggled with it for more than a decade, and I would do anything to protect them from that same struggle, so I think I knew deep down that something had to change, and it needed to start with me. Dieting is life-consuming, but you probably know that already! Sadly, most of us do.
In 2021, I took the Intuitive Eating Counselor training with Evelyn Tribole (MS, RDN, CEDRD-S) and Elyse Resch (MS, RDN, CEDRD-S, FAND) and became a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and started incorporating this lens into my work. While it’s not always well-received online, the internet trolls have no idea how mean I was to myself when I was deep into dieting and so ashamed of my body and the food it required. So I can handle it. 😉

What I See
I have a unique background and point-of-view that isn’t always seen online – and definitely isn’t the loudest voice! While I have a focus on nutrition, I prefer to keep it in the background, in a realistic way, with Intuitive Eating principles woven in.
Which is why you’ll see all types of food in my content. Everything from nutritious ingredients to snack food favorites. My content pushes the “healthy vs. junk food” narrative and I urge my readers and followers to embrace the gray area instead of looking at food and nutrition through a black-and-white lens. A lens that I think is unhelpful if you’re interested in long-term healthy habits. My “What I See in a Meal” videos on social media break down the nutrition that can be found in meals we may automatically write off as unhealthy.
