What You’ll Love About Air Fryer Mahi Mahi

  • Perfectly flaky and tender fish
  • Cooks in less than 15 minutes
  • Made with just 3 simple ingredients
  • Healthy and nutritious dinner
  • Simple and easy recipe for any home cook

Ingredients

  • Mahi Mahi – Look for high-quality mahi mahi fillets. I always recommend buying the best seafood you can. You can also use your favorite white fish like cod, tilapia, or snapper if you prefer.
  • Olive Oil – I like to spray the fish with an olive oil spritzer, but you can also brush olive oil onto the mahi with a pastry brush. Butter is another delicious option that adds great flavor to fish. Simply brush melted butter over the fillets.
  • Seasoning – You can season the mahi mahi with whatever seasonings you like. Keep it simple with sea salt and black pepper; lemon pepper seasoning; or your favorite fish seasoning. Seasonings like garlic powder, Cajun, taco blend, or a premade fish seasoning blend would all be delicious.

How long to cook mahi mahi in air fryer?

The air-fried mahi mahi will take about 8-12 minutes, depending on whether your fillets are thawed or frozen.

What temperature do you cook mahi mahi to?

You’ll want to cook the fish until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F with an instant read meat thermometer.

Can you cook frozen mahi mahi in air fryer?

Yes, you can cook frozen mahi mahi in the air fryer without thawing.

Can I make these into air fryer fish tacos?

Yes, you can easily turn this simple recipe into mahi mahi tacos! Season fish with taco seasoning or your own blend of garlic powder or onion powder, a sprinkle of oregano, and cayenne pepper if you like a little heat.

For a traditional fish taco, serve fish flakes inside toasted corn tortillas with thinly shredded cabbage, fresh cilantro, fresh lime juice, sliced avocado, and a lime crema drizzle. Add any other taco toppings and mango salsa as desired. Or make a fish taco bowl and serve it over white or brown rice instead of in tortillas.

Storage Instructions

Store any leftover mahi mahi in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

How to reheat

Gently reheat the fish in a hot pan or skillet or 350 degree F air fryer, just until warmed through so you don’t overcook it. Microwaving is not recommended.

Can you freeze mahi mahi?

I would not recommend freezing the mahi mahi again after you’ve cooked it. The beauty of the air fryer is that you can easily make just what you need.

How to Feed Air Fried Mahi Mahi
to the Whole Family

I get it, feeding kids can be tough! But following the Division of Responsibility and knowing your job and your child’s job makes it SO much more enjoyable. You’ll be able to feed your kids any meal, which will help ensure that they are eating a variety of nutritious foods – with plenty of play food sprinkled in.

I would recommend serving the fish in a pinch bowl (taster bowl) if it’s a new or learning-to-like it food. Serve the meal with a few items you know your kids will eat, like fruit, milk, and/or bread and butter.
