Description

Incredibly easy crockpot chicken and gravy recipe! Serve over egg noodles for major comfort food that the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lbs. chicken thighs, skinless and boneless
  • .6 oz. packet dry Italian dressing mix
  • 12 oz. jarred chicken gravy
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, cut into cubes.
  • 12 oz. wide egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Place chicken thighs in the bottom of a slow cooker and sprinkle with Italian dressing mix. Top with gravy and cubes of cream cheese.
  2. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
  3. Right before serving, prepare egg noodles according to package instructions.
  4. Lightly shred chicken and stir in melted cream cheese.
  5. Serve creamy chicken over egg noodles and top with freshly cracked pepper if desired.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers from this crock pot chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat creamy chicken in a hot skillet or in the microwave until heated through.
  • Ingredient notes: I recommend using boneless, skinless chicken thighs for the best flavor. You could also use boneless, skinless chicken breasts, but I prefer thighs as they have more flavor. If you prefer, you could also stir in a little sour cream or heavy cream at the end of cooking instead of using cream cheese. If using packets of chicken gravy, prepare as directed and use about 1 1/2 cups of prepared gravy.
  • Helpful tools: A 6-quart slow cooker works best for this recipe size, and a whisk helps incorporate the flour slurry smoothly.
  • Serve with: Mashed potatoes, egg noodles, rice, or cauliflower rice.
