(Hi! I have a more recent Amazing Grass review – read here!)

I’ve been a fan of Amazing Grass for quite some time now. You can read about the benefits of greens here but I honestly can’t think of a better way to start my day than a shot of greens. If I was hardcore I would mix it with water, but I’m not, so a little oj and water does the trick.

Amazing Grass recently sent me some of their products to review and graciously sent some amazing greens for our smoothie bar at Camp Endeavor. I was a little nervous that the kids would want nothing to do with anything that would turn their smoothies green, but surprisingly almost all of the girls tried it in their smoothie! It was definitely a proud moment for me. The boys weren’t as into it, but I’ll take a 65% approval rating as a success!

My favorite product is by far the Green Superfoods and always has been. I will say that I really rely on the packets of Green SuperFood while I’m traveling as well. As much as I might try to fit in as many vegetables while I’m on the road as I do at home, it never seems to be the same and those little packets make me feel like I’m making up for the lost vitamins, antioxidants, etc. a bit.

I love the idea of the Amazing Meal with a protein and greens mix, but unfortunately protein powder doesn’t always sit well with my stomach and I’ve always thought hemp protein powder was a bit grainy, even though I LOVE the nutritional stats of it. I’ll stick to my shot of greens 😉  Here is a recipe, if you are a fan of the Amazing Meal or interested in trying!

PB & Chocolate Green Smoothie – 1 serving

  • 1 packet Chocolate Amazing Meal
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1 Tbsp peanut butter

Blend until smooth and drink while cold!

I love the Amazing Grass Green Superfoods as well! I have the cocoa infused one almost daily mixed with milk and a little coffee and a mid morning “pick me up.” I occasionally sprinkle the wheat grass of the plain flavor on my cereal. I always buy some of the individual packets for travel as well. Yes, I’m kind of obsessed with it! 🙂

        LOL – I love that – RAW!

I’ve tried the Amazing Grass as well and reviewed it on my site. The Chocolate Kidz Superfood is good!! But….I don’t know, that stuff does a number on my stomach – not in a good way, I don’t think…it’s “gas-eous” 😉 ! (sorry if TMI)…

I love the idea of the amazing meal and have really been dedicated the past 4 days – having it each morning, first thing with coconut water. I am attempting the 14 day challenge, and I am having a really hard time. It is making me a human gas bomb! haha, its funny writing this but I just cant say it any better~ I have never had gas like this before~ Any help, reasoning, or suggestions? Thank you~ bloated in Baltimore 🙂

      Hi Mandi,
It could be because the amazing meal has the rice/hemp protein powders which contain fiber…that would be my guess. Or just that your body is having trouble digesting it so maybe give something else a try. Have you ever tried just the amazing grass? Hope that helps!

Can I mix the AG Green Superfoods in my regular morning smoothie and also add a different protein powder…like a whey powder (I have been researching Nature’s Best Isopure)? So it would be kind of my own “amazing meal” 🙂

That is what I do! Each morning I have a scoop of the ORAC Amazing Grass with my Vega Chocolate Protein powder a scoop of PB, coconut milk and ice.
