How to Sauté Plantains

Description

Learn how to saute plantains! If you’ve never had them, don’t be intimidated. They cook up in just 5 min + are a must for Cuban black beans.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium plantains 
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • sea salt


Instructions

  1. Slice plantains about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Heat oil in a nonstick pan and when oil is hot, add sliced plantains. Cook until lightly browned, about 1 minute per side. Set aside on a paper towel-lined plate and repeat with remaining plantains.
  3. Sprinkle with salt to taste. 


Notes

  • Add more oil if necessary so your plantains get nice and browned.
