Learn how to saute plantains! If you’ve never had them, don’t be intimidated. They cook up in just 5 min + are a must for Cuban black beans.
Ingredients

- 2 medium plantains
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- sea salt
Instructions
- Slice plantains about 1/4 inch thick.
- Heat oil in a nonstick pan and when oil is hot, add sliced plantains. Cook until lightly browned, about 1 minute per side. Set aside on a paper towel-lined plate and repeat with remaining plantains.
- Sprinkle with salt to taste.
Notes
- Add more oil if necessary so your plantains get nice and browned.
