baby update: 30 weeks

Rate This Recipe

It’s a little hard to believe that I’m already at 30 weeks (over 6 1/2 months!). I knew that between a busy fall and the holidays, the months were going to go quickly, but less than 10 weeks to go?! Insanity.

We’ve been making slow progress on the nursery and it should be done in the next few weeks – I’m excited to see it all finished! We kept things really minimal so there is a lot of black, white and a few pops of color. I ordered some nursery prints and I’m going to attempt a DIY mobile and that’s about it. I’ll show you a picture when it’s done!

We’ve also been preparing in other ways. Last weekend we took a day-long childbirth workshop at BINI Birth and while I went into the class starting to feel nervous for labor, I feel ready to take it on. (Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself so don’t burst my bubble!) We have a few other classes through the hospital and then we’ll be ready…right? 😉

Here are some details, but I’ll end with saying that I really love being pregnant. <3

woohoo! Looking great and I’m glad you are feeling great too! I have such nostalgia right now for the end of my pregnancy with Penelope as it was coming to a close at this time 2 years ago. Enjoy every moment of everything. It only gets better and better 🙂

So happy for you, my wife and I were nervous about labor up until we found out he was breech. C-section is coming up Tuesday the 27th. Good luck and enjoy these last few weeks.

you are adorable! i love the little part about the baby being the size of a cucumber. i’m coming out to LA in late april, i think we need to get together so i can meet you and the little one in real life 🙂

You’ve got this covered, Emily! You are strong, healthy and amazing! My mantra (pre-labor) was: “millions of women have done this before me” (actually billions, but who’s counting?). Also, the reminder that our body really does know what to do and you can relax and trust it – is true. Trust your body and yourself. It is a natural process (albeit intimidating and scary) but you are up for it! xoxoxo

You look amazing! It really is shocking how fast time has gone by. Having the holidays to keep me busy during the end of the second trimester turned out to be awesome…even if I am now a little panicked about getting everything done in time. I’m sure the last few weeks might feel a little slower though. 😉 Can’t wait to see your nursery once it’s finished!

Thanks Jenn! I know, I feel like I need the time but then I’m SO excited to meet the baby that I can’t wait! It’s so great that you are doing cloth diapers…we’re still trying to decide!

  6. Kara Merrill

You look amazing!!!! Oh how I craved red meat during pregnancy! All I could think about was my next cheeseburger:) And juice. Could not drink enough of it. Pregnancy is so weird! Excited to see your nursery soon!

  7. Megan (Braise The Roof)

Wow, time flies! You look fantastic, and I’m sure you’ll breeze right through labor. 🙂 Can’t wait to see the nursery reveal! Important question: have you and Richie started betting on whether the baby will have his red hair??

    • Emily

Haha, YES! This has most-definitely been discussed. At first, it was a 100% yes to red hair but now I’m thinking that it will be blonde or strawberry blonde. But hopefully, we can help replenish the red-head population! 🙂
